Lecturer, Primary Sciences and Maths Education

About the role

The University of Adelaide seeks a full‑time Lecturer to develop, deliver and coordinate Primary Sciences and Mathematics Education courses across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Based at the Mawson Lakes Campus, the role involves both on‑site teaching and travel to other campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging on‑campus and online courses in primary science and maths education.
• Maintain curriculum relevance, aligning content with industry standards and quality assurance frameworks.
• Develop assessments, provide academic support and mentorship to students.
• Contribute to programme development and the school’s broader teaching strategy.
• Establish a research programme, publish scholarly work, secure funding and supervise research students.
• Engage with industry, community and academic partners to enhance research impact and graduate outcomes.
• Participate in academic leadership, committee work and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., PhD or equivalent) in education, science or mathematics education.
• Demonstrated experience in higher‑education teaching and curriculum design.
• Track record of research activity, publications and ability to obtain external funding.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for interdisciplinary work.
