Lecturer – Percussion (Full-time)

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Percussion program across the Bachelor of Music, including curriculum development, student recruitment and performance activities.
• Deliver high-quality teaching in percussion and Aural Skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, providing one-to-one tuition, ensemble direction and supervision of research and creative projects.
• Develop and maintain an active research and creative practice profile through performances, publications, recordings, collaborative projects and competitive research funding.

Required profile

• A doctorate in music, percussion or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional standing.
• Demonstrated excellence in contemporary percussion performance and ability to teach students from undergraduate to postgraduate level.
• Experience delivering innovative and inclusive teaching, including curriculum development, assessment design and student-centred learning approaches.
• Established or emerging record of research or creative activity shown through high-impact performances, publications, recordings or other recognised outputs.
• Proven ability to build relationships and contribute to outreach, recruitment, engagement and collaboration with students, industry, community and cultural partners.
