Lecturer in Exercise Science

About the role

The University of Wollongong is seeking two Lecturers in Exercise Science to join its Exercise, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences Discipline. One position is based at the Wollongong campus and the other at the Liverpool campus, both contributing to high‑quality teaching, research and student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical sessions in Exercise Science and related subjects.
• Develop and assess curriculum, ensuring alignment with professional accreditation standards.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conduct and publish research, with a focus on developing research activity (Wollongong) or supporting teaching delivery and program growth (Liverpool).
• Participate in academic service, including professional accreditation processes and departmental initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Strength and Conditioning, Motor Control, Physical Activity and Health, Rehabilitation Science or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to high‑quality teaching, assessment and curriculum development.
• Evidence of an emerging or established research programme appropriate to career stage.
• Strong communication, organisational and collaborative skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
• Eligibility for professional accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
