About the role

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Lecturer in Business Analytics to join its Faculty of Business and Economics. This 18‑month fixed‑term position starts on 20 July 2026 and offers the opportunity to shape future‑ready analytics graduates while advancing your research profile.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate Business Analytics subjects using contemporary teaching methods and e‑learning platforms.
  • Conduct high‑quality research in a commerce‑related discipline, publish in leading refereed journals and secure external research funding.
  • Supervise Masters and PhD students, supporting their research training and academic development.
  • Engage with industry, community and professional organisations to enhance the relevance and impact of teaching and research.
  • Contribute to departmental service, committees and other academic activities.

Required profile

  • Hold or be completing a PhD in a commerce‑related discipline (e.g., economics, finance, accounting, operations).
  • Demonstrated emerging research record in business or economics, with working papers or submissions to leading journals.
  • Experience teaching Business Analytics at undergraduate and master’s level, both face‑to‑face and online.
  • Active participation in academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • Potential to attract research grants and collaborate with industry, government or community partners.
  • Commitment to collegial, inclusive practice and high standards of ethics, teaching quality and student achievement.
