Learning & Development Advisor

About the role

The Learning & Development Advisor will support Hobsons Bay City Council by designing, delivering and managing practical learning programmes that enhance employee capability across the organisation. You will act as the central point for the Learning Management System, onboarding, compliance training and collaboration with leaders and People & Culture.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), providing user support, managing course bookings and generating reports.
• Coordinate, deliver and facilitate learning and development programmes aligned with council priorities.
• Manage induction, onboarding and mandatory compliance training, ensuring accurate records and governance compliance.
• Partner with leaders, subject‑matter experts and People & Culture to identify learning needs and develop fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
• Support organisational capability initiatives in collaboration with the Organisational Capability Partner.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Learning & Development, Human Resources or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience administering an LMS and coordinating training programmes.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration skills with senior leaders and HR teams.
• High attention to detail with robust record‑keeping, compliance and reporting abilities.
