Leading Hand – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Leading Hand to join the Facilities team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will support daily operations, supervise the grounds and maintenance crew, and ensure that all upkeep is performed safely and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the grounds and maintenance team in daily operational tasks.
• Coordinate labour resources to align with operational priorities.
• Maintain landscaping, gardens, roads, pathways and common areas across the resort.
• Assist in the upkeep of utilities infrastructure such as water, gas, electricity and digital services.
• Oversee rubbish and recycling operations throughout the property.
• Monitor facility conditions, identify maintenance needs and plan work with the Facilities Manager.
• Liaise with contractors to ensure safe, efficient and timely completion of works.
• Provide updates on project progress, equipment and material requirements.
• Act as delegate for the Facilities Manager during periods of absence and promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, facilities or property maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a small team.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate resources effectively.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach to maintenance issues.
• Experience working with contractors and external service providers.

Required skills

• Grounds maintenance and landscaping techniques.
• Basic knowledge of utilities systems (water, gas, electricity).
