Leading Hand - Heating and Cooling Installations

About the role

Savage Air is looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join its Pakenham-based heating and cooling install team. The role suits someone who takes pride in clean, organised installations, communicates well with the office and clients, and can guide apprentices and team members on site. It is a full-time position based from the Pakenham factory.

Key responsibilities

• Install ducted reverse cycle systems, high wall and multi-head split systems, bulkhead splits, VRV systems, gas ducted heaters and evaporative coolers to manufacturer, Australian, good practice and Savage Air standards
• Complete Aroflo notes, photos, checklists and sub-status updates, record site damage, and bring recycled units back to the factory with the correct job number
• Leave each site clean, including vacuuming, wiping controllers and securing gates and doors
• Maintain van stock levels, keep the van clean and ready for toolbox checks, and check fluids regularly; notify the office before servicing
• Train apprentices in installation steps and Aroflo use, and submit weekly timesheets by Thursday 7:00am
• Help keep the van, stock and factory areas organised, and load up for the next day around 3:00pm where the schedule allows
• Full access to a company van, fuel card and toll card, with employees supplying their own tools

Required profile

• Certificate III in Plumbing as a registered mechanical plumber, or qualification as a refrigeration mechanic
• ARCTick licence for split systems and a White Card
• Working With Children Check
• Experience installing domestic heating and cooling systems
• Organised, practical and reliable, with strong communication skills and pride in workmanship
