Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive sustainable mechanical services solutions across a variety of sectors. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that projects meet evolving market and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC and other mechanical services solutions for clients in digital infrastructure, defence, health, education, sports and commercial sectors.
• Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver coordinated, market‑responsive solutions.
• Act as a day‑to‑day people leader, supporting the development of junior team members.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, stakeholders and other professionals to integrate mechanical solutions into diverse building projects.
• Implement cutting‑edge technologies and sustainable practices to improve building functionality and reduce environmental impact.

• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical services engineering combined with empathy and big‑picture thinking.
