Lead Engineer

About the role

Join CFS’s AI & Data division to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of a modern data platform that supports reliable, scalable and secure data processing across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate CFS’s data platform infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high availability, performance and security.
• Provide technical strategy, code reviews, guidance and training to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with project teams to align code changes with best practices and architectural standards.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub) for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement access controls, encryption and other security measures for the data lakehouse.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a data engineer building scalable, secure data platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud‑based data engineering principles and modern architectures.
• Experience delivering production‑grade code with thorough documentation, unit testing and quality standards.

Required skills

• Databricks, Fabric, Terraform, Azure cloud services (Azure DevOps, CLI, Portal, Resource Manager, Security, Automation, Monitoring).
• Programming languages: SQL, Python, Java, Scala.
• Data concepts: ETL, data modelling, Hadoop, data lakes, relational and Data Vault warehouse modelling, ODS, real‑time analytics, data governance.
• CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, infrastructure as code, disaster recovery management.
