Lead CFD/Wind Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a senior leader for its Computational Fluid Mechanics/Dynamics team to drive technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of complex projects in buildings, defence, water and transport sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑performing group of engineers within the national Engineering Sciences team.
• Deliver high‑quality, on‑time solutions for existing and new clients while identifying growth opportunities.
• Champion innovation through research, cloud‑based HPC, and advanced software tools.
• Engage with industry via conferences, technical papers and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification (PhD or Masters) in a relevant field.
• Proven experience leading an established engineering team and developing junior staff.
• Strong business development capability and client‑facing experience.
• Ability to obtain Defence clearance.

Required skills

• Computational tools: OpenFOAM, FastEDDY, ANSYS.
• Cloud‑based high performance computing environments.
• Strong coding and scripting abilities for modelling workflows.
• Expertise in physical and computational modelling of gas, liquid and multiphase flows.
