Lawyer – Public Law (Associate / Senior Associate)

About the role

Join a well‑established disputes and public sector practice as a Lawyer, Associate or Senior Associate. You will work on administrative law, merits review and broader government‑related litigation, gaining hands‑on exposure to technically engaging and impactful matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of merits review and administrative law matters.
• Prepare submissions, evidence summaries and case strategies.
• Appear at tribunals, attend conferences and negotiate on behalf of clients.
• Advise on legislative interpretation and administrative decision‑making.
• Support litigation strategy, dispute resolution processes and governance initiatives.
• Engage with internal stakeholders, external counsel and other parties.
• Conduct legal research and draft clear, practical advice.
• Depending on seniority, mentor junior lawyers and contribute to client relationship development.

Required profile

• 1–8 years post‑qualification experience in government litigation, administrative law, tribunal work or related disputes.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, procedurally complex matters.
• Strong written advocacy, drafting and analytical capability.
• Confidence working both autonomously and collaboratively.
• For senior candidates: experience managing matters and mentoring junior staff.
