Laundry Officer

About the role
This permanent, full‑time position is based at Bandyup Women’s Prison, a maximum‑security facility in Western Australia. The Laundry Officer oversees all daily laundry and clothing processes for prisoner living units and self‑care units, providing a productive work environment for female inmates and ensuring a clean, safe workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, and distribution of clothing and linens.
- Supervise and train female prisoners assigned to the laundry unit.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the laundry area.
- Handle chemical cleaning agents safely and ensure compliance with relevant protocols.
- Coordinate with prison staff to meet the clothing needs of all units.
Required profile
- Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Current C‑class driver’s licence.
- Valid First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation with at least 12 months remaining.
- Completed Chemical Handling Skill Set or willingness to undertake training.
