Laboratory Technician - Oil Analysis

About the role

ALS Oil & Lubricants in Canning Vale provides testing and analysis to ensure optimal fluid health for its clients' equipment. It is looking for Laboratory Technicians to join its talent pool. This is a full-time role with 8-hour shifts in a small team within a NATA-accredited oil analysis laboratory, analysing oil, coolant, fuel and grease samples. Full training is provided through an incremental structured programme.

Key responsibilities

• Labelling and unpacking samples
• Registering samples
• Routine sample testing including ICP-OES, FTIR, viscosity, particle counting, colour analysis, acid-base titrations and Karl Fischer titrations
• Basic equipment calibration
• Working as part of a team of laboratory technicians, technical support staff and leadership
• Carrying out housekeeping duties as required
• Following safety guidelines according to policies and procedures
• Moving and lifting racks and boxes in the 5-10 kg range

Required profile

• Team player who enjoys a group environment and can work in a fast-paced environment under reasonable pressure
• Excellent communication skills and great attention to detail
• Willingness to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required
• Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or similar is advantageous
• Previous experience using a LIMS is desirable but not essential
• Eligible to work in Australia (citizen or permanent resident, or holder of a valid working visa)
