Laboratory Technician

About the role

Eurofins is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Dandenong South, VIC facility. The role involves preparing water and soil samples, performing extractions, and supporting analytical testing in a fast‑paced environmental laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, sort and log water and soil samples, assign tests and prepare batch sheets using the ELVIS database and Microsoft Excel.
• Extract analytes from samples, combine extractions, concentrate solutions and vial them according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain traceability of prepared samples, perform quality control tests and prioritize urgent samples.
• Handle quarantine samples per AQIS procedures, manage waste disposal, replenish consumables and calibrate lab equipment such as syringes and dispensers.
• Keep the laboratory clean, orderly and comply with Eurofins Code of Ethics and safety policies.

Required profile

• Good understanding of chemistry and mathematics (Year 11 level).
• No formal science degree required; ability to work in a technical environment.
• Desire to learn, entrepreneurial mindset and hands‑on work ethic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for batch sheet preparation.
• Experience with laboratory pipettes, vials, solvents and basic equipment calibration.
