Laboratory Supervisor

About the role

SGS Australia is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Supervisor for a FIFO roster (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off). The role involves overseeing all laboratory activities, ensuring timely sample processing, and maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Delegate daily tasks to sample preparation and laboratory technicians.
• Monitor laboratory productivity and track consumable stock levels weekly.
• Coordinate the return of samples and waste to clients, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of sample submission, preparation progress, and archiving.
• Ensure results are delivered to clients on schedule and in line with contractual agreements.

Required profile

• Knowledge of acid extraction methods and ability to recognise various sample types.
• Solid understanding of analytical procedures and sample preparation.
• Experience operating AAS and XRF equipment.
• Proficiency with CCLAS EL LIMS.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
