Knitting, Crochet or Sewing Volunteer – Residential Care

About the role

HammondCare Woy Woy invites people who enjoy knitting, crochet or sewing to join its residents for cosy, creative moments of conversation and connection. You will help residents with their current projects or spark new ones, sharing your friendly presence and craft skills while HammondCare provides all the resources needed. It is a relaxed, social activity where stories are shared and creativity flows.

Key responsibilities

• Visit residents at HammondCare Woy Woy to chat and work on knitting, crochet or sewing projects together
• Help residents with their current projects or encourage them to start new ones
• Bring your friendly self and your love of making things; HammondCare supplies the materials

Required profile

• 18 years or older
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Commitment of one hour per week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months, with a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Friday)

Regular visits from volunteers can improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. To express interest, contact the volunteer recruitment coordinator, who will reach out by phone or text and then by email if needed.
