Kitchen Steward – Luxury Hotel

About the role

As a Kitchen Steward at a premier beachfront hotel, you will be the backbone of the culinary operation, ensuring that all kitchen and back‑of‑house areas are spotless, organised, and compliant with food safety standards. This hands‑on position supports chefs and the wider culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and glassware in line with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchens, stewarding areas, cool rooms and other back‑of‑house spaces.
• Support chefs by keeping workstations, equipment and supplies ready for service.
• Assist with waste management, recycling and sustainable practices according to hotel procedures.
• Follow HACCP cleaning schedules, handle chemicals safely and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Collaborate with culinary and stewarding teams to ensure smooth service flow.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Reliable, hands‑on approach with pride in maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks safely.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge.
