K-6 Teacher – Primary School

About the role

Southern Grove Primary School is building a pool of enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 6 teachers for permanent and fixed‑term positions, both full‑time and part‑time, starting in the 2027 school year. Successful candidates will join a collaborative community that values innovation, evidence‑informed practice and strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across all K‑6 learning areas.
• Implement the Walker Learning Approach, encouraging independent, creative thinking.
• Integrate evidence‑based programs such as UFLI Foundations, Word Origins, Talk for Reading, Talk for Writing and Top Ten Maths.
• Collaborate with staff in curriculum design, professional learning and coaching.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents and the wider community.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Passionate, dedicated educator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Reflective practitioner open to feedback and ongoing professional growth.
• Willingness to learn and apply the Walker Learning Approach.
• Experience with evidence‑based teaching programs is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Walker Learning Approach (highly regarded).
• Familiarity with UFLI Foundations, Word Origins, Talk for Reading, Talk for Writing and Top Ten Maths.
