Junior/Mid Software Engineer – AI‑Assisted Development

About the role

Join the Clipboard team within the Compass ecosystem to help schools manage extracurricular programs through AI‑enhanced development. This junior‑to‑mid level software engineer role blends hands‑on coding with product judgement, allowing you to ship features quickly while learning larger design and architecture decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Take well‑scoped tickets from definition to production, collaborating with product managers and senior engineers.
• Write, review, and maintain clean, well‑tested code without a dedicated QA function.
• Deliver features incrementally using feature flags and staged rollouts.
• Document technical decisions in lightweight Decision Logs.
• Experiment with AI coding tools (prompts, skills, agent harnesses, in‑repo context files).
• Participate in code reviews both as reviewer and reviewee.
• Work with the support team to triage and resolve production incidents.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Curiosity about AI‑assisted development and a strong interest in product impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer‑science fundamentals and a desire to own the full software lifecycle.
