Junior Hydrogeologist – Brisbane

About the role

SLR, an international environmental consultancy, is seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist to join its 35‑person groundwater team in Brisbane. You will work on both field and office tasks, supporting a range of clients on groundwater and surface‑water projects.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake integrated monitoring programmes, including groundwater and surface‑water sampling.
• Conduct field studies such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programmes, monitoring bore installations and hydraulic testing.
• Analyse data to assess trends, data integrity and water‑movement mechanisms.
• Prepare factual reports based on field and laboratory data for clients.
• Assist senior staff with groundwater compliance and assessment reports.
• Act as a health and safety leader on client sites, following SLR’s safety culture.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in hydrogeology or earth sciences.
• Completed a short course in hydrogeology or a university degree (Bachelor or higher) in Science or Engineering with a focus on hydrogeology or a related field.
• Comfortable working both in the field and in a modern office environment.
