Junior Full-Stack Developer & AI Engineer

About the role

Hire A Mover is looking for its first in‑house developer to design and ship an AI‑driven operating system that will power a fast‑growing Australian logistics business. You will work directly with the founder, enjoy high ownership, and see your code run the business from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build a new backend platform that consolidates quoting, bookings, scheduling, client portals, invoicing and integrates with Xero, GPS tracking, SMS and email.
• Replace the existing CodeIgniter CRM function‑by‑function while providing light‑touch maintenance during transition.
• Develop and maintain public WordPress sites (Hire A Mover, Hire A Packer, Hire A Box) with a focus on technical updates, SEO and conversion improvements.
• Collaborate with UX designers to turn designs into production‑ready code.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a strong self‑taught developer.
• 1–2 years of experience in your first development role or serious side projects.
• High curiosity, initiative and speed of learning; treats AI as a primary development tool.
• Experience shipping solutions using Claude, Cursor, OpenAI or Anthropic APIs.

What we offer

• Full‑time hybrid role (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)
• Base salary $70,000–$75,000 AUD plus superannuation
