Junior Accountant – Client Management & Reporting

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met and client satisfaction is high. This position is ideal for candidates who are not yet graduates but aim to develop into senior accounting roles. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and the Manager, supporting day‑to‑day financial tasks and client communications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Income Tax Returns (ITR) for assigned clients.
• Compile and review financial statements and assist in their finalisation.
• Support senior staff in tax planning meetings and provide documentation for VCFO and management reporting sessions.
• Draft responses to client queries for senior approval and maintain clear communication channels.
• Track weekly utilisation using the Workflow Capacity Spreadsheet and proactively request additional work or report overload.
• Participate in the development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures and system efficiencies.
• Review and allocate incoming mail, escalating uncertainties to senior team members.

Required profile

• Not a graduate yet, with a strong desire to progress to a senior accountant role.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communicator who can collaborate with team members and clients.
• Proactive attitude toward workload management and process improvement.
