IT Help Desk Specialist – Sydney

About the role

The IT Help Desk Specialist will join Hicksons| Hunt & Hunt’s Sydney offices, providing first‑ and second‑level support to all internal users. You will ensure staff can efficiently access and use networked computer services, contributing to minimal downtime across a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate and prioritize user requests, delivering timely support for hardware, software and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents on Windows desktop operating systems, including installation, configuration and maintenance of laptops, desktops and peripherals.
• Monitor device security and compliance, reporting non‑compliant systems and recommending improvements.
• Maintain and update support documentation, and communicate planned or unplanned service outages.
• Liaise with third‑party vendors to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.

Required profile

• Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a customer‑service‑focused IT support role.
• Diploma or higher qualification in IT or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to service improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
• Experience in desktop hardware support and peripheral configuration.
• Ability to install and configure software applications.
• Basic knowledge of device security and compliance standards.
