iOS Engineer

About the role

The iOS Engineer will join Cognizant’s global mobile squad to design, build, test and support innovative iOS applications. Working in an agile environment, you will collaborate with designers, product owners and backend engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions for leading enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain iOS apps using Swift and SwiftUI following MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Integrate RESTful APIs, handle JSON data, and manage application state and error handling.
• Write and maintain unit, integration and UI tests with XCTest and JUnit.
• Participate in code reviews, ensure coding standards, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Debug, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge on best practices and emerging technologies.
• Take ownership of end‑to‑end feature delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Engage in all Agile ceremonies and continuously improve team processes.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI for iOS development.
• Solid understanding of GitHub workflows and version control.
• Experience with mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with RESTful API integration and JSON handling.
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Willingness to use AI‑assisted programming tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot or GitHub Copilot.
