About the role

The Alice Springs Hospital Pharmacy Department is offering a 2027 Intern Pharmacist position for a recent pharmacy graduate. This internship provides a supportive, progressive environment to complete registration requirements with the Pharmacy Board of Australia while gaining experience across a wide range of clinical areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with inpatient and outpatient dispensing and provide patient counselling.
• Deliver ward‑based clinical pharmacy services in line with departmental procedures and AdPha standards.
• Participate in medication reconciliation, clinical review and multidisciplinary care.
• Support non‑sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing and preparation of medicines.
• Provide culturally appropriate medicines information to patients and staff.
• Contribute to medication safety initiatives, quality‑improvement projects and policy implementation.
• Support drug distribution services and maintain accurate prescription records.

Required profile

• Pharmacy graduate eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Motivated and able to work in a remote, culturally diverse setting.
• Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide patient‑centred care.
