Intermediate Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to join ELMO Software’s Sydney head‑office team. You will work on end‑to‑end delivery of product features, collaborating closely with product owners and engineering peers in a fast‑moving, AI‑enhanced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own stories and smaller epics from requirements refinement through build, testing, deployment and production support.
• Design and implement secure, reliable, and scalable product features.
• Leverage AI tools and agents to accelerate routine tasks while ensuring quality.
• Participate in design discussions and adhere to established engineering standards and patterns.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across the team’s applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement via documentation, knowledge sharing and process refinement.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience developing modern web applications using PHP and React.
• Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals such as SOLID principles, RESTful APIs, object‑oriented programming and secure coding practices.
• Ability to produce maintainable, well‑documented code and work effectively in a collaborative team.
