Intermediate Accountant – Public Practice

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our well‑established public practice firm in Newcastle. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across construction, manufacturing, agriculture and healthcare, gaining experience in both compliance and advisory engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for a range of entities including companies, trusts, partnerships and unit trusts.
• Deliver compliance‑related work and support senior staff on advisory projects.
• Respond to client queries and contribute to tailored solutions.
• Identify process improvements and add value to client relationships.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislation, accounting standards and industry developments.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• 2–3 years experience in a public practice accounting firm.
• Progress towards or completion of CA qualifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Professional communication and a collaborative mindset.
