Intelligence Specialist

About the role
The Queensland Police Service is seeking an Intelligence Specialist to develop and deliver strategic intelligence that supports target development operations across the state. Working within a multi‑agency, multi‑disciplinary team, you will help shape high‑level targeting opportunities and contribute to the governance of major operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direction and intelligence services to QPS Commands and Regions, supporting the QPS Strategic Plan.
- Offer high‑level analytical advice to officers on targeting strategies.
- Plan, prepare and deliver complex intelligence assessments on crime and community safety using accepted intelligence processes.
- Establish and maintain effective networks with internal QPS units and external partners.
- Develop and implement work practices focused on continuous improvement.
- Supervise and guide junior staff where required.
Required profile
- Willingness to work at any location where intelligence capability is needed.
- Ability to undergo psychometric assessment and obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
- Preparedness to encounter graphic and sensitive material.
- Flexibility for shift work, including afternoons, weekends and nights.
- Commitment to complete QPS‑provided intelligence training.
