Insolvency & Banking Litigation Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Insolvency & Banking Litigation Lawyer to join a leading securities enforcement practice. The successful candidate will work closely with a Best Lawyers Australia partner who has extensive international and cross‑border insolvency experience.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and act for financial institutions and insolvency practitioners on complex financial exposures across multiple industries.
• Represent voluntary administrators, receivers, liquidators, trustees in bankruptcy, and both secured and unsecured creditors throughout the insolvency and restructuring process.
• Handle litigation matters involving lending and non‑lending loss, securities enforcement, and cross‑border dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with senior partners on strategic priorities and high‑profile national client matters.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in banking and insolvency litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to work with financial institutions and insolvency practitioners.
• Strong understanding of Australian, State, Federal and appellate jurisdictions.
• Experience with cross‑border insolvency matters in the UK, Europe or the United States is advantageous.
