Infrastructure Engineer – Mainframe Automation

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Mainframe Automation Support Engineer to join its CDIS – Infrastructure, Security & Integration team. You will help maintain and enhance automation and monitoring for the bank’s critical IBM Mainframe environment, ensuring reliable banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain IBM Z System Automation and mainframe monitoring services.
• Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and assist with incident management and problem resolution.
• Implement, test, and validate approved automation and monitoring changes.
• Troubleshoot automation‑related issues and support service restoration activities.
• Contribute to automation engineering initiatives that improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through enhanced automation coverage.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories.
• Ensure compliance with change management, risk, audit, and operational control requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, storage, scheduling, and operations teams to improve service stability and resilience.

Required profile

• Foundational experience or knowledge of IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environments.
• Exposure to automation and monitoring technologies within enterprise platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
