Industrial Design Engineer – Retail Displays & Brand Activations

About the role

Industrial Design Engineer at PoINT Retail, a multi-award-winning retail marketing company in Thornleigh, NSW. The role blends creative problem‑solving with technical manufacturing to deliver production‑ready retail display and brand activation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed, innovative engineering solutions in SolidWorks for retail displays and brand activations.
• Create quote drawings, submit requests and collaborate with operations to produce competitive pricing.
• Perform quality‑control checks on prototypes and production runs, communicating issues and resolutions.
• Produce client‑friendly assembly instructions using photos, SolidWorks drawings and Illustrator, and generate print‑ready artwork.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high‑quality output and attend job briefs.
• Support project management with a pathway to full project ownership, managing timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• 3–6 years experience in industrial or product design engineering, preferably in retail display, POS, signage or related manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks to produce fully resolved CAD files and engineering drawings.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite for pre‑press artwork and documentation.
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and cost‑effective production.
• Highly organised, accountable and able to work autonomously.
