Indonesian Language Teacher (Years 7-9)

About the role

A regional secondary school in Warragul (Years 7-12, about 700 students) is looking for a Classroom Teacher - Indonesian to run Indonesian language programs for Years 7-9. The teacher plans, prepares, delivers and evaluates engaging programs that build foundational language skills, intercultural understanding and an appreciation of Indonesian language and culture. Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver curriculum-aligned Indonesian programs that develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
• Design engaging, differentiated lessons using explicit instruction, modelling, guided practice and authentic communication
• Integrate literacy, numeracy, digital literacy and intercultural understanding into learning activities
• Set clear expectations for behaviour, participation and learning, and use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and adjust teaching
• Maintain accurate assessment records and give timely, constructive feedback to students, families and colleagues
• Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment development, moderation and evaluation within the Languages learning area
• Take part in professional learning, collaborative planning, staff meetings and parent-teacher meetings
• Support student wellbeing and engagement through positive relationships and restorative practices

Required profile

• Current provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
• Registered or eligible for registration with VIT, with appropriate qualifications to teach Indonesian and/or relevant curriculum expertise and teaching experience
• Knowledge of the Indonesian language curriculum and ability to differentiate for diverse learners
• Ability to plan and implement high-impact teaching, assess student learning and give constructive feedback
• Collaborative, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
