Inclusive Cafe Team Leader

About the role

Endeavour Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic Inclusive Cafe Team Leader to support its social enterprise cafe, Est 1951, which helps people with disability develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to move into mainstream employment. Working alongside the Cafe Site Coordinator, you will lead day-to-day operations of a busy cafe and provide practical workplace training, coaching and support to employees with disability. The role is based at the Endeavour Foundation support office in Cannon Hill, Queensland, with full-time hours Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and coach employees with disability to develop workplace skills, confidence and independence
• Support the Cafe Site Coordinator with the daily operation of the cafe
• Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service and professional hospitality standards
• Assist in maintaining food safety, cleanliness and compliance with relevant regulations
• Monitor quality standards across all cafe service areas
• Support stock management, supplier relationships, stocktakes and inventory control
• Minimise waste and promote efficient business operations

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in hospitality, food service or a similar industry
• Sound knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to person-centred practice and inclusion
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure, with a flexible, proactive approach
• Food Safety Supervisor certification is highly regarded; experience supporting people with disability is highly regarded but not essential
