Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher

About the role

Karratha Senior High School, an independent public school for Years 7 to 12 serving about 1270 students, is advertising a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teachers for permanent and fixed-term vacancies that may arise during the 2027 school year. Two positions are anticipated: one permanent full-time and one fixed-term 12-month full-time, starting Term 1, 2027, plus other HASS opportunities that may appear in 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach secondary HASS to students in Years 7 to 12, delivering a differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student achievement and build positive relationships with students.
• Deliver lessons aligned with the school's Whole School Instructional Model, with formal and informal instructional coaching and support.
• Promote the school's moral purpose, values and priorities across the whole school community.

Required profile

• Eligible teacher qualification and registration.
• Australian, New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
• Ability to teach ATAR Economics is desirable.
• Knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Eligible to hold a WA Working with Children Check and consent to a criminal history check.
