Human Resources Officer – Perth Hotel

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support the hotel’s people strategy by delivering HR initiatives that drive business effectiveness and colleague engagement. You will work closely with hotel leaders and the administrative team to ensure smooth HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate HR activities across the hotel, aligning them with business goals and company values.
• Manage recruitment and onboarding processes to attract, select and retain talent.
• Oversee employee records with the PT Administrative Assistant, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
• Promote IHG people programs, tools and employer branding initiatives.
• Handle new‑hire onboarding, workers‑compensation claims and foster a hotel‑wide safety culture.
• Build strong internal and external relationships to support long‑term people strategy.
• Ensure compliance with the Hospitality Industry General Award and other applicable awards.

Required profile

• Full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a generalist HR role within Australia or New Zealand.
• Strong time‑management, ability to work under pressure and influence others.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Hospitality Management (advantageous).
• Experience interpreting HIGA Awards (advantageous).
