Human Resources Officer

About the role

SGS Australia, a testing, inspection and certification provider with a network of more than 50 offices and laboratories across Australia, is hiring a Human Resources Officer. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, you will support employees and managers across a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training delivery and policy implementation. The role suits candidates based in Perth or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Work with HR Advisors and Business Partners to deliver day-to-day HR activities and improve operational efficiency.
• Manage immigration and visa matters while ensuring regulatory compliance across all relevant jurisdictions.
• Contribute to M&A activities, including workforce planning, recruitment strategy and employee integration.
• Prepare and maintain employment contracts, variations, position descriptions and HR documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding and other employee lifecycle activities.
• Maintain accurate and secure HR records and respond promptly to employee and manager enquiries.
• Support employee relations, performance management, HR reporting and strategic projects, and contribute to recruitment.

Required profile

• Qualification in Human Resources.
• 2-3 years' experience in an HR administration, coordinator or similar role.
• Working knowledge of Australian employment laws and regulations.
• Organised, adaptable and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship building.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong administration, organisation and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, use initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
