Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead the people and culture function for Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation, providing operational HR expertise and ensuring cultural safety across the employment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Oversee employee relations, performance management, wellbeing initiatives, and compliance with Australian employment law.
• Conduct workplace investigations and support managers with practical, confidential advice.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to embed fair and culturally grounded HR practices.
• Maintain HR records, policies, and reporting systems.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in human resources, business, workplace relations, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in an operational HR, people and culture, or employee relations role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, awards, recruitment, onboarding, performance processes, and investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and community stakeholders.
• High integrity, professionalism, and capacity to manage sensitive matters calmly.

What we offer

• Salary up to $127,941.75 per annum plus superannuation.
• Salary packaging up to $15,899 per year plus meal and entertainment benefits of $2,650 per year.
• 10 days Noongar Cultural Leave, 5 days compassionate leave, 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading, and additional Christmas shutdown leave.
