Human Resources Coordinator

About the role

The Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused People Team Coordinator to join its People Team and help deliver an exceptional employee experience. Reporting to the Talent and People Business Partner, the role covers recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, reporting, learning and development, HR systems and employee support. It suits someone wanting a long-term career in human resources with exposure across the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to employee and manager enquiries and provide first-level HR support.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
• Coordinate recruitment activities, including advertising, interview scheduling, candidate communication and pre-employment checks.
• Support onboarding and induction of new employees.
• Prepare employment contracts, variations and other employment documentation.
• Assist with reporting, compliance activities and HR administration.
• Support learning and development initiatives and People projects.
• Help drive continuous improvement across People processes and systems.

Required profile

• Previous experience in HR, recruitment, people administration or a similar coordination role.
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Australian employment practices and HR processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Required skills

• Experience using HRIS, ATS or other business systems.
• Strong administration and organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative, proactive and customer-focused approach.
