Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

Karbon, the global leader in AI‑powered practice management software for accounting firms, is seeking a People Business Partner to work closely with its Engineering and Product teams. Reporting to the VP of People, you will partner with senior leaders, use AI tools to surface insights, and help shape the people agenda across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner proactively with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer to understand delivery models, team dynamics and metrics.
• Leverage AI‑driven workflows to automate routine HR tasks, analyse data and prepare leadership briefings.
• Lead complex employment relations matters, providing clear guidance and coaching leaders to own outcomes.
• Interpret modern awards, ensure contract compliance and manage WHS risks before they arise.
• Challenge leaders with data‑backed insights, balancing support with constructive push‑back on people or business risks.
• Use people analytics to build narratives that drive leadership alignment and decision‑making.
• Own and deliver specific HR projects that elevate the overall people function.
• Champion change initiatives and support leaders through transitions.
• Collaborate with People Ops and Talent teams to deliver a seamless employee experience across the employee lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience as an HR Advisor, People Business Partner or similar HR role.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand business context quickly.
• Proactive, curious and comfortable influencing senior leaders.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills, with a data‑driven mindset.
• Experience handling employment relations, modern award interpretation and WHS compliance.
