Human Resources Business Partner – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This 12‑month parental‑leave contract is for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner with legal‑services background. You will act as a trusted advisor to partners and senior leaders across Australia and Asia, shaping people strategy and influencing organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and support partners on leadership, culture, engagement and talent development.
• Provide commercially grounded advice on employee relations, employment obligations, probations, performance issues and terminations.
• Manage people‑operations lifecycle activities for designated business units.
• Partner with senior HR leaders on remuneration reviews, talent mapping, promotion cycles and workforce planning.
• Champion DEI, wellbeing, learning & development and employee recognition initiatives.
• Build influential relationships with partners and business leaders to support decision‑making.
• Drive engagement and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic People projects and continuous‑improvement efforts.

Required profile

• 4+ years experience as an HR Business Partner in a legal or professional services environment.
• Relevant HR degree or equivalent qualification.
• Strong employee‑relations knowledge with the ability to give clear, practical advice.
• Proven credibility when partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent judgement, resilience and influencing capability.
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for culture, capability and performance.
