Human Resources Advisor

About the role

A Human Resources Advisor is needed on the HR Operations team at Queensland Metals, reporting to the HR Manager. The role works closely with operational leaders and employees to deliver high-quality HR support in a complex, operational environment. It is residentially based in Mount Isa on a 5/2 4/3 roster, with relocation support available for candidates living outside Mount Isa.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to build high-performing teams, develop talent and shape culture
• Navigate complex people challenges and advise across the employee lifecycle
• Influence workforce strategy and drive meaningful people initiatives
• Support business transformation and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
• 3-5 years' HR experience, ideally in the resources or heavy industry sector
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation
• IR/ER experience and ability to manage a portfolio of 500+ employees
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and acting as a trusted HR resource at all levels

• Ability to influence, negotiate and build stakeholder relationships
• Practical, sound-judgement approach to supporting operational teams
