HR & Recruitment Officer

About the role

SSS, a leading shutdown specialist serving mining and resources clients, is looking for an experienced and personable HR & Recruitment Officer to join its Perth team. The role blends recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement with broader HR support, acting as the first point of contact for employees and candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for operational and corporate positions, including shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks and offer preparation.
• Build and maintain talent pools for upcoming shutdown and project opportunities.
• Develop and improve recruitment assessment processes, testing, screening and onboarding programmes.
• Provide first‑level HR advice to managers and staff, supporting employee relations, performance management and development.
• Maintain personnel files, HR records and assist with policy development and implementation.
• Support employee engagement, retention initiatives and training & development programmes.
• Design internal training programmes and identify opportunities to enhance workforce capability.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recruitment, HR or a combined HR/recruitment role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong interviewing and candidate assessment abilities.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with candidates and employees.
• Highly organised with strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Professional written communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
