HR Manager – Strategic Workforce Leader

About the role

This senior HR Manager position will lead the design and execution of strategic workforce initiatives for a purpose‑driven organisation. Reporting to the Group Manager Business Services, you will partner with senior leaders to ensure a sustainable, high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Workforce Plan.
• Provide expert advice on HR, industrial relations, employee relations and workplace compliance.
• Coach and support leaders in people management, performance management and workplace safety.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compliance, workforce planning and off‑boarding processes.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, leadership development and learning initiatives.
• Develop and maintain HR, IR and OHS policies, procedures and frameworks.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior Human Resources leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations and workplace compliance.
• Proven track record managing complex employee‑relations and organisational‑change matters.
• Experience developing workforce strategies, leadership programmes and organisational‑development initiatives.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
• Background in the public sector, not‑for‑profit, tourism, rail, construction or volunteer‑based environments.
