HR Business Partner – 18‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

Perth Airport is seeking an HR Business Partner on an 18‑month fixed‑term basis to provide high‑impact people support across a diverse portfolio. You will work closely with leaders to deliver practical HR advice and manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and process HR transactions such as parental leave, flexible work arrangements, role changes and exits, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Support leaders with performance management and employee relations by preparing templates, letters and records, and escalating complex matters when required.
• Provide first‑line guidance on policies, codes of conduct and governance requirements, helping leaders apply them consistently.
• Maintain and update position descriptions and assist with job evaluation activities using agreed methodologies.
• Assist with cyclical HR activities including performance and reward cycles, engagement surveys and talent processes, tracking timelines and preparing communications.
• Prepare basic HR reporting and people metrics (turnover, engagement themes, workforce movements) to aid decision‑making.
• Keep HR processes and internal guides up to date and identify practical improvements for self‑service.
• Support delivery of people initiatives such as culture programs.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience providing HR advice and processing HR transactions.
• Ability to support performance and employee relations matters and to prepare related documentation.
• Good understanding of HR policies, codes of conduct and governance frameworks.
• Experience maintaining position descriptions and participating in job evaluation activities.
• Familiarity with cyclical HR activities such as performance reviews, reward cycles and engagement surveys.
• Capability to produce basic HR reports and analyse people metrics.
• Proactive attitude towards improving HR processes and guides.
