HR Advisor – Mining Operations

About the role

BUMA Australia is looking for a proactive HR Advisor to support its long‑standing mining contracts in Central Queensland, primarily at the Goonyella and Blackwater sites. The role involves delivering HR services across the employee life‑cycle while travelling regularly to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue standard employee correspondence.
• Support onboarding, investigations, disciplinary actions, talent and succession processes.
• Maintain HR records, databases and reporting dashboards for leadership.
• Collaborate with the Senior HR Advisor on culture initiatives for project teams.
• Provide accurate HR advice on employee relations, workforce planning, culture and compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
• At least 3 years’ experience in an HR Advisor role.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• High initiative and capacity to influence outcomes through others.

Required skills

• Experience using HR systems such as SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Computer literacy essential.
