Housekeeping Team Leader

About the role

As a Housekeeping Team Leader at Mantra Esplanade Cairns, you will inspire and guide a dedicated housekeeping team to deliver exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction. You will combine hands‑on cleaning duties with leadership, training, and operational oversight to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Perform cleaning tasks across rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house as needed.
• Provide training, conduct regular room inspections and uphold brand cleanliness standards.
• Assign daily tasks, manage inventory and coordinate with other departments.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve issues to ensure a pleasant stay.
• Assist with budget management and communicate performance updates to management.

Required profile

• Strong eye for detail and previous housekeeping experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time‑management abilities.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a polished appearance.
• Ability to think quickly and keep operations running smoothly.
• Willingness to lead the team while also working alongside them.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
