Housekeeper - Aged Care (Casual)

About the role

Berengarra Aged Care, a 90-bed residential aged care facility in Kew run by St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, is hiring a casual Housekeeper. The role supports residents' day-to-day needs through food preparation, cleaning and laundry, working as part of a team on the Aged Care and Mental Health Unit. The position is paid $30.00 per hour plus casual loading.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare short order meals, and help coordinate and prepare residents' daily menu and beverage choices
• Wash meal plates and kitchen trays, and keep the kitchen, pantry and kitchen equipment clean
• Help the cleaning team with resident rooms, bathrooms, living areas, dining areas and staff and public areas
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, dust, clean glass, make resident beds and clean the kitchen
• Follow infection control procedures
• Take laundry trolleys to the laundry and help wash, dry, press, fold and return residents' laundry

Required profile

• Food Handling Certificate (essential)
• Cleaning and food and beverage handling experience, preferably in an aged care setting
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and strong communication skills
• Previous hospital or residential facility experience highly desirable
• Current NDIS check, or willingness to obtain one
