Host – Luxury Restaurant

About the role

As the first point of contact for guests at Marmelo, a coastal‑inspired restaurant in Melbourne, the Host ensures a warm and professional welcome, manages seating and reservations, and supports smooth service flow.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and farewell guests with genuine hospitality.
• Maintain an organised host station and communicate effectively with the service team.
• Manage reservations, seating arrangements and guest preferences.
• Answer guest queries about menus, specials and promotions.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as confirming bookings.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as a host/hostess in a luxury or lifestyle venue.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational ability and multitasking under pressure.
• Calm, professional demeanor in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with reservation systems.
• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
