Host – Luxury Hospitality

About the role

Join Hyde Melbourne Place, a lifestyle hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, as a Host. You will be the first point of contact for guests, delivering warm hospitality and ensuring a seamless dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and farewell all guests with genuine hospitality.
• Maintain an organised host station and ensure smooth communication with the service team.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to inquiries and special requests.
• Assist the floor team with service and guest enquiries.
• Stay up‑to‑date with menus, daily specials and promotions to answer guest queries confidently.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience as a host/hostess in a luxury or lifestyle establishment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, approachable manner.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to multitask under pressure.
• Calm, professional and engaging demeanor in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SevenRooms reservation system (preferred).
• Experience using POS (point‑of‑sale) systems.
