Hospital Pharmacist - Toowoomba

About the role

Slade Pharmacy in Toowoomba, part of the Icon Oncology Group, is looking for a registered pharmacist to join its hospital pharmacy team. Newly registered pharmacists are welcome to apply, and comprehensive training and mentorship are provided, with exposure to cardiology, orthopaedics, oncology and mental health. The role sits inside St. Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services across hospital wards
• Dispense medications in hospital and retail settings, including professional services such as vaccinations
• Conduct medication history interviews and medicines reconciliation
• Provide medication counselling and education to patients and carers
• Monitor medication outcomes and manage adverse drug reactions
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
• Support education and training for pharmacy, nursing and medical staff
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits and medication safety projects

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions on practice
• Permanent Australian working rights

• Availability to work an on-call weekend roster
• Previous hospital experience is desirable
